Sometimes I feel like I have to learn to walk again. Hiking here is quite different from what I am used to. The rock is fragile and crumble - probably the reason why mountains here look so different to the ones in Europe. The "path" up the mountains (normally there is no path) is scree (loose rock). One step forward means two steps back. The way up takes a lot of effort. The way down on the other side is really quick:-)
Many mountains and the valleys here seem untouched. No ski slopes, no chairlifts, no roads, no tracks, no houses along the lake sides, no phone signal, no channeled rivers, no avalanche galleries....
